Untitled[edit]

I am interested in exploring if this person (H.J.Addonizio)was one of my relatives. He and my maternal grandmother shared the same, rather uncommon, last name. Her husband was also a tailor,as was H.J. A.'s father, according to the biographical data.I see other commonalities as well. I have ,sadly, lost touch with any relatives that could shed some light on my background. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.188.117.6 (talkcontribs)

I can tell you that Hugh J. Addonizio had at least one brother. His name was Sabby, which I believe was short for Sabastian. He was a recreational director at Mt. Vernon elememtary school until shortly after his brother was elected mayor. He was then promoted to Director of Recreation for all Newark schools. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rayblake@charter.net (talkcontribs)

I am also distantly related to this person. His siblings were Sabby (Sabatino), Lena, Ida and Victor, parents Frank and Livia. I hope this helps! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8800:1507:DC00:811E:B505:9DF:ECB2 (talk) 07:43, 11 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Date of resignation from Congress[edit]

"He resigned his seat on June 30, 1962, to run for mayor of Newark."

But the infobox says he became mayor the very next day. How does that work? Harfarhs (talk) 01:04, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
