Dublication?[edit]

Anon, most probably in his zealous attempt to get Hong Kong listed as a country in the List of city listings by country, created this page List of cities and towns in Hong Kong, which is practically a dublicate of the contents already listed here. Should a merger of the two pages be appriopriate?--Huaiwei 17:46, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

A split?[edit]

Should this list be split into a list of buildings and structures, and a list of areas (neighbourhoods)? — Instantnood 19:40, August 30, 2005 (UTC) (modified 12:49, 16 November 2005 (UTC))[reply]

Split already. — Instantnood 12:49, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pak Shek Kok listed twice[edit]

Pak Shek Kok is listed under both Tai Po and Sha Tin districts. The linked article says that Pak Shek Kok is in Tai Po, but located near Sha Tin. It appears that the listing of Pak Shek Kok under Sha Tin District should be deleted. Is there any reason it should be listed as being in Sha Tin? Lincmad (talk) 19:43, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It actually spans across two districts. Hung Hom, Causeway Bay, Disneyland Resort, etc., also got similar situation. 61.18.170.68 (talk) 12:05, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How and where is 'area' defined?[edit]

This list is predicated on the term 'area' (linked here to neighbourhood). But is 'area' defined administratively by Hong Kong authorities? Can we provide an official link? Earthlyreason (talk) 17:27, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Areas is an ambiguous word. Do you mean locations?

billinghurst sDrewth 17:12, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per standard English usage. No term seems to officially used. The cited source in the article[1] has two columns, one for "District Name" and one for "Areas included" which does not read as an official term for these places. Use of "area" for "place" in this case reads like a Chinglish direct translation of 地區 rather than native usage. — AjaxSmack 03:38, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The Hong Kong Government uses the word area consistently for the meaning of neighbourhood. The same word 'areas' is used in several neighbourhood categories for UK cities, such as Dundee, Edinburgh, etc. 112.118.184.53 (talk) 12:35, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The word in English would be "neighbourhood" and not "area", so if it's going to be moved it should be to that. Fences&Windows 23:16, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Original research[edit]

This list had a lot of original research. For example, defining which area is the sub area of another . Matthew hk (talk) 04:08, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
