The Reuss's number in a bizarre manner. They're all named Henry, so non-ruling male members of the house are also numbered. Basically, all members of the younger branch born in a particular century are numbered sequentially in order of birth, and then it starts over again. john 20:30, 29 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Vogtland[edit]

"the name of Vogtland .. has remained to this day a geographical summary for Reuss". This is misleading, even allowing for the fact that its "this day" is over a century ago. The name "Vogtland" is usually applied to the district centred on Plauen and Auerbach, which had become part of Albertine Saxony by the end of the Thirty Years' War in 1648. 1927 is in the past[edit]

"After the death of Henry XXIV, the last scion of the younger line, the Principalities of Reuss-Greiz and Reuss-Schleitz will be united." As the article says, he died in 1927, and Reuss ceased to exist in 1920. I have deleted this sentence. Maproom (talk) 01:02, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see from this article how the title has passed to Her Serene Highness Princess Anni-Frid Synni Reuss, Countess of Plauen (1992–present), or, more specifically, to her late husband Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss of Plauen (24 May 1950 – 29 October 1999). Size?[edit]

How big (in physical area) is Reuss? Current news stories about the coup attempt refer to it as a 'small' or 'tiny' area, but no actual size is given in this article. T bonham (talk) 02:26, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@T bonham: I have entered the area data, both for the entire Vogtland (3.467 km²), which was originally under their control (roughly comparable in size to the county of Essex), and for the parts of it ruled by the Reuss princes until 1918 (1.143 km²).
