Why are there not create a category Ancient Macedons. Alexander the Great and other generals and Macedon Kings are Macedons, not Greeks. It should be changed. And Category:Ancient Macedon generals, and not only Ancient Greek generals. Yes or no? Boris Živ
That's funny seeing as to how Alexander the Great saw themselves as Greek, but once more, our slavic friends from the north would like to disregard actual history in favor of their psuedo-history. ;p
Alexander the Great was Macedonian, and king of Macedonia. not Greek, and not king of Greece. His empire included and Greece. Boris Živ
The categories including the word 'Macedonian' may pertain to the Republic or to te region. There have been discussions on this topic in the articles, yet, regarding the cetgories, there is still a lot of confusion. (see e.g. the various reverts at Category:Macedonian newspapers and Macedonia (newspaper). There should be unified guidelines in this respect. Most categories about the republic are labeled as such, but others are not. One possible guideline would be that 'Macedonian' as a qualifier in a category should always refer to the whole region. Imho the most sensible thing would be to have a double hierarchy of categories and to label categories confined to the Republic as such. Fore example the [:Category:Ethnic groups in Macedonia]] should be renamed to Category:Ethnic groups in the Republic of Macedonia or a category of that name should be created. Similarly for Category:Macedonian Law, Category:Macedonian media, Category:Macedonian culture, Category:Macedonian society etc. Andreas(T) 13:55, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
