Klieger Aliav Ruth nee Polishuk, Lady of the Mossad for Aliya Beth(Institute for "Illegal immigration to Palestine,) Born 1914 in Chernovitz, Rumania graduted from Vienna Unerversity, knew 9 languges came to Israel after marriage in 1936, mobilized to the Mossad 1939 and was sent to Rumania. Head of the Opperations in Rumania sent the "Tiger Hill" September 1939 and the "Hilda" January 1940. Escaped to Istanbul Turtey there together with other Mossad agents organized the dispatch of the Darien II March 1941 . A full account of these deads in her autobiography ["The Last Escape"].a best seller 1974. 1941-44 was the Mossad agent in Cairo, in 1944 with De gaulle's help arrived in liberated Paris and was the first Mossad agent to contact the survivors of the Holocaust. In October 1945 Ruth got from a USA colonel from Eisenhowers headquarters the "Ascania" a troop ship to take orphans to Israel, the ship was filled up with 2600 Holocaust survivors, on arriving in Haifa the British goveranment of Palestine had no choice but to let them in, The colonel wanted to do another trip but Eisnhower put a veto on that because of British pressure. October 1945 [Ben Gurion] arrived in Paris, so not to have eavedroppers the two went for a 4 hour walk in Boulogne forest, Ben Gurion wanted to know if the Holocaust survivors will be ready to sail cramped in the Mossad nutshell ships, Ruth convinced him that after the Holocaust the refugees will be ready for any hardships to reach the new homeland. Paris became the headquarters of the Mossad, soon later Ruth left for South America and the USA, raising money and buying ships. After Israel independence 1948 she was public relations manager at ZIM the Israeli shipping company. Ruth divorced in 1940, there is an urban legend that Ruth was Ben Gurion's lover, (no proof). Ben Gurion suggested to Ruth a new Hebrew surname Aliav (V and B are the same Hebrew letter) Ruth passed away in 1979 from cancer.
