It does need a little background so that people who are not French history experts will have a clue what is happening. Wikiacc 00:42, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Remove article?[edit]

Reasons why we should consider removing this article. (1) The newly-updated Battle of Epierre (15 Sept 1793) article covers the battle and the 14 August to 8 October 1793 campaign in the Tarentaise and Maurienne valleys. The campaign has been thoroughly covered in the Battle of Epierre article. (2) Meribel is in a dead-end valley south of the Tarentaise, so it's not clear why it would be fought over. (3) The Duke of Montferrat's Piedmontese forces were farther west on 13 September - between Albertville and Moûtiers. (4) No sources are cited or referenced.
