Does this add anything to its linked articles, or is it just advertising? Timberline 21:40, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Oooh, detective time. Created by User:Zephrant... if you track back, you get only one link, from Protein skimmer, also created by him. What links to that? Reef tank and Foam fractionator. The latter is a reference to Protein skimmer (by the same guy), and the former is again by the same guy. What links to that? Reef safe - him again - Butterflyfish, and Aquarium. Aquarium was edited to add a link to Reef tank, but it seems to have already existed (as a redlink) from Butterflyfish. He also added a reference to, and created, Saltwater aquarium - all over the course of 45 minutes, his only edits. So a whole almost-closed set of pages, most of which seem to be encyclopedic in an aquarian context - they could do with some linking back from the main structure, and fleshing out, but it certainly doesn't look like he's created it as advertising. Keep, I'd say, or possibly merge into Protein skimmer. Shimgray 22:06, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: I appreciate the detective work, but note that this is a very, very, very, very specific single product article. It isn't the only "foaming fountain" in an aquarium. It's one. It sounds to me that it's exceptionally below the notability line. If "protein skimmer" is encyclopedic (I don't think it needs a separate article at all), this surely isn't. This is back to redlinking the names of the band members. This is a specific of a type. The type may or may not deserve an article, but the specific does not. Geogre 01:55, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • I think I got a bit distracted there and ended up thinking we were VfDing the lot :-). Hmm... delete this one, and merge "protein skimmer" into reef tank while we're at it? Shimgray 14:26, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. This is a single product. There are many comparable products available. However, the other marine aquarium-related topics deserve more information. It is very difficult to keep marine fish let alone invertebrates. People who keep them may benefit from more well-written Wikipedia articles. -- Toytoy 02:17, Nov 13, 2004 (UTC)
