According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.78 km²), of which 0.3 square miles (0.78 km²) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km²) (12.90%) is water.

Surrounding neighborhoods

Stockdale's only land border is with Allenport. Across the Monongahela River to the south in Fayette County, Stockdale runs adjacent with Jefferson Township.
