Tone in paragraph about Trump incident[edit]

The section about the incident with Donald Trump is clearly biased and emotive.

      • Jorge Ramos won the 2003 Maria Moors Cabot Award. If he is really Mexican why appear in the Winners List with USA flag?

English only on only-Spanish language TV Station[edit]

I placed back the text that was removed by somebody:

On September 9, 2007, Ramos as a moderator to a democratic presidential debate on the Spanish-language television network Univision, cut off and refused to allow Governor Bill Richardson to speak Spanish. Richardson expressed his disagreement and replied: "And I do want to say at this point that I was under the impression that in this debate Spanish was going to be permitted because I've always supported Univision all my career, but I'm disappointed today that 43 million Latinos in this country, for them not to hear one of their own speak Spanish -- (applause) -- is unfortunate," Richardson said. "In other words, Univision has promoted English only in this debate." Ramos by imposing the "English only" debate on a Spanish-language TV network was seen as being very rude, offensive and disrespectful to the entire Hispanic community. Ramos has never apologized.

I don't see why was removed, this is relevant information that needs to be part of the article, it has to be balanced and not to serve only as a propaganda-article to Ramos. He was very criticized for not allowing Richarson to says a few words in Spanish. It was very upsetting and disappointing.

Thanks

Statements like "Ramos by imposing the "English only" debate on a Spanish-language TV network was seen as being very rude, offensive and disrespectful to the entire Hispanic community. Ramos has never apologized." is commentary that violates WP:NPOV and further additions of that kind will be reverted.--Jersey Devil (talk) 23:14, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So nearly three years later, is there another picture that can be included? He has said that Obama didn't go far enough soon enough and so there is an excellent picture of Jorge Ramos on the front page of DrudgeReport.com ... He looks great and distinguished. -- AstroU (talk) 00:49, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We still need a freely licensed image. How great the photo is and how long we've been waiting for one are irrelevant. So long as Ramos is alive and less than a complete recluse, an image of him is replaceable: theoretically someone can -- whether easily or not -- take a photo of him and release the photo. There is no fair use argument here. Sorry. - SummerPhD (talk) 03:41, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New NEWS today, for future editing[edit]

Jorge Ramos distinguishes himself as the main voice for Univision.

Headline-1: Univision's Jorge Ramos: Obama Paying Off 'Debt' to Latinos

QUOTE: "Univision anchor Jorge Ramos described Obama's executive action on immigration as paying a "debt" to the Latino community. In an interview with Fusion colleague Alicia Menendez, Ramos denied that Obama had kept his promises on immigration in full, since he had pledged to take action in his first year in office. But Ramos concluded: What President Barack Obama is doing right now is paying a debt to the Latino community, and honestly, it’s an important victory for the Latino community. Ramos went on to say that the President must do more, and was still leaving out 6 million undocumented aliens that need help. Asked whether Obama had kept his promise, Ramos stated: ..." -- AstroU (talk) 00:59, 22 November 2014 (UTC) -- PS: FYI for future editing.[reply]

Mexican American?[edit]

If you're born in Mexico you are Mexican and can become a naturalized American citizen but you are not Mexican-American. This is a designation given to Americans born in this country whose parents are of Mexican descent. The first sentence in Jorge Ramos's bio is incorrect when saying he is Mexican-American and should be corrected. It's a common misperception, though, and many people do not know or do not differentiate between Mexicans and Mexican-Americans.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.173.170.199 (talkcontribs) 04:11, April 16, 2015‎

Iowa Brown & Black Democratic Presidential Forum[edit]

Ramos was a moderator of the Democratic Presidential Forum on January 11, 2016. This needs to be included and discussed in the article. ---Dagme (talk) 16:29, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Category:Critics of Islamophobia from this article and removal of category by User: Cpt.a.haddock[edit]

This article is in the category "Critics of Islamophobia", but there seems to be no source to this.

There is a discussion about the inclusion of articles that are in this category at category "Critics of Islamophobia".

Yes, Ramos made a documentary called Hate Rising, but it was mainly about Nazis and Latinos and racism, not so much about Islmophobia.

I am trying to understand if a source is needed to categorize it also for this and all other articles. There are many articles where the article is categorized and it is sourced to a published article.

User:Cpt.a.haddock is removing this category from several pages even though it is sourced to published article. He says it is not enough for categorization. (For example, at Vinay Lal the categorization is sourced to this article: V. Lal: Implications of American Islamophobia, Economic and Political Weekly, Vol. 50, Issue No. 51, 19 Dec, 2015. But even then, the category was removed by User Cpt.a.Haddock.)

See his contributions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Cpt.a.haddock

The question is, is this enough for categorization? If this source is not good enough, I do not understand how this article is categorized in the category without sources. --Sebastianmaali (talk) 16:06, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
