the classification seem to be wrong: compare interwiki link: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fr%C3%BChlings-Knotenblume

This genus appears to be a victim of conflicting classification schemes. ITIS gives the family as Liliaceae but it is included in the Amaryllidaceae article. The Amaryllidaceae is considered to be a separate family by many authors but was once part of the Liliaceae so the classification is less wrong than antiquated. Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy. -- WormRunner | Talk 22:06, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

That´s very interesting. Thanks for this interesting information. --Sjoehest for german Wikipedia (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer_Diskussion:Sjoehest )

Picture identification[edit]

I suspect that the close-up picture of the flowers in the taxo box is the Summer Snowflake, not the Spring Snowflake, as it shows several flowers held close together (rare in L. vernum) and the flowers do not have the characteristic angular "lampshade" shape of L. vernum. The article "Snowflake" needs to be reduced to a stub pointing to articles on the genera Leucojum and Acis, with a brief discussion of the basis for separating the two genera and reviving the old genus Acis. Alternatively, point to the PBS Wiki for detailed discussion. The text of the present wikipedia article seems to be a holdover from before the recent segregation of the smaller snowflake species into genus Acis. The pictures of the two Leucojum species are now correctly identified. 207.216.27.140 06:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
