Welcome![edit]

Hi , and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

Welcome again![edit]

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!

OK, Raman. More specifically, I'd like to urge you not to use so many different accounts (User:Rrampal, User:Pharlap, User:Sessions1980...)!

Also, could you put more information on the images you upload? Thanks. — Chameleon 09:05, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your welcome message, I appreciate it.
What I don't appreciate is that you accuse me of using different accounts. I only have this one user account, and I recommend that you refrain from this kind of imputations. Thanks. Pharlap 15:19, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Remarks[edit]

Pharlap, the comment you left about swastikas on Deeceevoice's VfD was not appropriate in my view, and could be construed as a racist remark. I don't want to get into an argument about whether it was or wasn't, but it could be seen that way, and remarks like that are therefore best avoided. We had enough of it from Wareware. If you feel you can't get on with a particular editor, it might make sense not to edit pages s/he's on, but I see you seem to edit quite a few pages that Deeceevoice edits. If that is to continue, it would be worth making an extra effort to get along with her. Let me know if I can help in any way. SlimVirgin (talk) 23:54, July 17, 2005 (UTC)

comment length[edit]

Please try to keep your comment to under 500 words on the initial phase of the RfAr. In the evidence phase you can bring the quotes forward.

And quotes you have brought forth, Pharlap. I think you should try to cut down on the sheer amount of citations, though. Around 10 is more than enough. And try to focus on really obvious incivilities, not "you don't enough, so you shouldn't edit"-comment, which don't really count as proper personal attacks, and often not even incivilities.

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:West Virginia state prisons.png. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image copyright problem with Image:Map tibet.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Map tibet.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. BRossow 01:18, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:RoyalParchmentScrollBlackSupremacy.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:RoyalParchmentScrollBlackSupremacy.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 22:41, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Royal Parchment Scroll of Black Supremacy[edit]

The article Royal Parchment Scroll of Black Supremacy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable subject as no RS to confirm notability can be found

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
