Comments[edit]

Just in case anyone has any fear about copyright issues here, the anonymous entry of some of the lyrics here (those of "Criogenia salveaza Romania") are actually by Dan Teodorescu himself. The following is from an email I received (I guess he didn't know about Talk pages)

Joe, I don't know how to thank you... It's the first English presentation we ever had. We couldn't make it better. I'll even use it when I'll send the demo CD's.
I added a little part with the lyrics of Cryogenia saves Romania. Can you, please, check it out?

If anyone needs to verify this, you can either contact Dan through the band's website (listed on the page) or contact me through wikipedia & I can hook you to him. -- Jmabel 18:02, 21 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Request for sources[edit]

I see that a template has been added to the article with a request for secondary sources. What exactly is it that you want to see separately cited? Surely the band's own site is the most appropriate source for band member names, song lyrics, etc. - Jmabel | Talk 05:48, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, it is; but are they notable? A band's official website is a self-published source. Are they any independent articles written about or mentioning the band online? See Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles; has Taxi been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable? --Geniac 12:27, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Being a national selection for Eurovision would make them notable if they'd done nothing else. I don't have access offhand to the Romanian equivalent of a Billboard chart, but they are one of the 10 or 12 leading acts in that country. You'd have a hard time watching any of several Romanian TV music channels for an evening without seeing them. I seriously doubt you would find anyone familiar at all with the subject of Romanian-language music who would in any way question their notability; the fact that you question it strongly suggests that you know literally nothing about the topic.
That said, I will try to turn up some additional references. - Jmabel | Talk 05:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a couple; here are two more that indicate that they are notable:
I can't think of anything to use these for usefully in the article, though: they are just further citations for their notability. I hope that closes the notability issue. By the way, there is a template {{notability}}, which is distinct from the one that raises questions about the appropriateness of the citations. - Jmabel | Talk 06:48, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Taxi (Rome), Taxi (Romania)[edit]

I'm holding a record in my hands from a band called "Taxi" that is neither from Romania nor sounds like pop-rock. It's a punk-rock band from Italy, indeed thats strange: Rome/Romania :P

and now?

Taxi (band)Taxi (Romanian band) – insufficient disambiguation, as this is still ambiguous. Taxi (Gibraltar band) exists. This should redirect to Taxi (disambiguation)#Music. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 10:27, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
