I think this should be turned into basically a "character-cell vs. block-oriented terminals" article, because most of the information would be duplicated among two separate articles. Basically the description of each is short: the interesting part is how they compare and what they're each good for. I can't think of a good name offhand though. web browsers equated to terminals?[edit]

That calls for some substantial reliable sources pointing out that web browsers might be mistaken for a terminal by people who are unfamiliar with either TEDickey (talk) 00:40, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There's an obvious inheritance, just like the inheritance of CGI programming from CICS, but rather than a simple "see also" link, maybe a sentence or two in a section called something like "legacy." Peter Flass (talk) 11:32, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
