On the repeated removal of SpigotMC[edit]

First of all, I'm quite new to Wikipedia am am sorry if I should have posted this on the talk page of User:Largoplazo. Anyways, I'm referring to a revision by the mentioned user, which reverts my addition of SpigotMC, the performance-optimized Minecraft server implementation. The user states in their revision message: (Reverted 1 edit by Literallie (talk): Removing fourth addition of reference to a non-notable server.) that Spigot was non-notable. I disagree with that, since the usage of Spigot actually improves performance a lot and is also used by a lot of big (I mean the one with >500 players online at all times here) Minecraft servers (citation needed). Also, as you can see on this McStats chart, about 20% (as of May 9, 2014) of all Bukkit servers are run by Spigot, making it the most-used fork of CraftBukkit. Apart from that, the Spigot forums are also used by a lot of server owners, making them a great place to find help related to Spigot, but also related to Minecraft in general and for general discussion. It may also be required to mention that the SpigotMC Resources section features more than 400[1] resources (read: plugins) related to Minecraft (also as of May 9, 2014). I am open for discussions, but I really think that Spigot needs to be mentioned on Wikipedia. --Literallie (talk) 19:10, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid you've misunderstood the problem. Wikipedia isn't concerned with how terrific something is, but whether it's notable in the sense that Wikipedia uses the term. See WP: Notability. Broadly speaking, before something is mentioned on Wikipedia, Wikipedia wants it to have already been mentioned in a substantial way in multiple reliable sources. I was unable to find suitable sources. —Largo Plazo (talk) 22:15, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Some more detail: The purpose of a Wikipedia disambiguation page is to assist users in navigating Wikipedia by distinguishing among articles, not among things that are out there in the world. There is no article about SpigotMC, nor any that gives information about SpigotMC. That's why it's incorrect to add an entry, at this time, for SpigotMC to this page. See MOS:DAB for more information. —Largo Plazo (talk) 12:32, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
