Gutenberg didn't really invent the printing press. He invented METAL moveable type.

He put many inventions together to creat the printing press. It had a great effect on the world. There were ideas that were spread that could have never been spread if it wasn't for the printing press.

Gutenberg is an important figure in the history of literature.
