Vfd?[edit]

I suggest that this page be deleted. Most major RDBMSes support user defined types (UDTs) and user defined functions (UDFs). And the relational model has never objected to UDTs, so the object-relational concept is bogus - or at least not important enough to make a list-page for.

It makes more sense to view UDFs and UDTs as potential capabilities of an RDBMS, just as support for materialized views - for example - is a feature of some RDBMSes. Thus, such feature-columns could very well be added to the Comparison of relational database management systems page. TroelsArvin 16:21, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Object-relational is not just relational. It is important to distinguish between the two. e.g. Type inheritance and table inheritance are two OR features of Oracle and PostgreSQL. --minghong 07:20, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)
