Redlinks[edit]

Um... exactly why were the links taken out? I had them there for a reason - so that others could write pages and link them up through the district webpage. And the Stratford (Stratford High School, Houston) link was legit; now it redirects back to the district page. The Stratford page actually predates this district page and I based the Spring Woods page off of it; it definitely should not have gone into the graveyard. I'm probably going to revert back to my previous edit on the district page unless there are some answers... Souperman 07:11, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

If they're removed again, just revert the edit. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 07:43, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I just wanted to know if there was a decent reason for it before I reverted (the wiki suggested guidelines are rather murky, I will give them that, and that guy is also an admin, like you, so I was willing to give benefit of the doubt); if so, there was no point for a back-and-forth with nobody talking to one another about just what they were doing. Thanks! Souperman 07:50, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Good point. A reason to remove the links might be that Wikipedia entries on individual schools are often listed for deletion and it may sometimes be thought better to write detail about the schools into the school district article. It's a judgement call. Because we already have two pretty good high school articles associated with this district, I don't think it would be right to merge them into this article. They can stand on their own. Others may be of a different opinion. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 12:52, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Since the school issue is so divisive, I think it would be good to stick to the recommended guidelines on WP:SCH and build material on the school district page before creating articles on the schools. Thus, redlinks are premature at this point I believe. If verifiable non-stub articles exist on the schools, though, then the links should by all means be there. --BaronLarf 13:19, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
That's fair. In this case, the two high school pages actually pre-date the school district page - I first came across guidelines very recently, researching after the edits by Neutrality. Never knew there was such the contraversy that there is before then. Thanks for your input. Souperman 02:50, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Specific Municipalities[edit]

Maybe this is a bias, and feel free to tell me it is, but I think it's a bit excessive to consider the various villages as more than a couple quick points rather than everywhere they technically have a certain district building. None of the villages have their own post office (every bit of mail to there goes to Houston, TX 77024) and in clarifying which Memorial High School it is talking about in a county-wide (there is a Pasadena-Memorial) or state-wide article, the newspaper does not call it "Hedwig Village-Memorial", but instead "Houston-Memorial". Also wondering how to explain that there aren't really seven high schools - the three "charter schools" (one of which is not really a charter school either) are all special cases - Westchester is a middle school/high school hybrid, the School of Choice is alternative education for at-risk students, and the Guthrie Center is a vocational training center for the four "regular" (for lack of a better term) high schools. I will leave it as is for now - it's certainly not disastrous as is, but seems rather off. Thoughts? Souperman 1 July 2005 07:41 (UTC)

  • Well, the thing is, the villages all have their own municipal governments. The USPS is completely separate. WhisperToMe (talk) 19:54, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Spring Branch ISD logo.gif[edit]

Image:Spring Branch ISD logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:01, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
