"left the band"[edit]

The article says "...large lineup change in 1980 in which drummer Barrie "Barriemore" Barlow and keyboardists John Evan and Dee Palmer left the band."

I don't think they really left the band. They were more-or-less pushed out of the band when Ian decided to use the new lineup on the album and concerts. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 03:27, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to use neutral language in that sentence, as the exact circumstances of their departures have never been entirely clear (whether they were fired or left of their own accord). Maybe "departed" is a better word? Basil the Bat Lord (talk) 09:19, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think departed is a better word. From what I read, they didn't quit and they weren't told that they were fired. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 02:54, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Barlow QUIT, no ifs/ands/buts. In the 20 Years of JT boxset book, Evan said he quit because he "no longer knew where Anderson ended and John Evan began." -HammerFilmFan — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.111.6.149 (talk) 09:22, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
