Sequel[edit]

Greed Island is not a sequel to Hunter x Hunter, it's simply a story arc within Hunter x Hunter.

Support for this claim is that the manga in which the Greed Island story arc occurs is still called simply Hunter x Hunter, and there is no "gap" between the Greed Island story arc and the previous story arc as usually appears between sequels and their prequels.

Changed the page to be about the game Greed Island as it is played in Hunter x Hunter, rather

Cards[edit]

Was there ever a list of GI cards compiled here, or is that considered too detailed/infringing? -Zyrxil (talk) 16:29, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure on this, but in Volume 16, starting at the beginning of Chapter 161, there is a list of all the Greed Island cards. This is in the Viz version, not sure if it is in any others. Any way we can use those directly? As the description and such are just off the cards themselves. I know this is a semi-old topic, but it'd be awesome to have a nice wiki on everything in Hunter x Hunter. XScar (talk) 00:39, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see why not, the Japanese wiki version of the Greed Island page has a big list of the cards. There's just so many though, it'd be a huge undertaking to not only type them up, but also to cite when/where they are actually shown. -Zyrxil (talk) 07:25, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly would be a huge task. If we were to start this up, any certain way to really do it? By topic? Table? As for the most part, pictures of the cards will probably be hard to come by, but things like the card name, number, rarity, and description are provided. Might look into starting this once the weekend hits. XScar (talk) 03:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. Card Name Effect Type Rank
1001 Steal See all contents of target player's free slots. Long Distance / Common G-200

English version should be modeled on it. Pictures aren't really necessary, only 20 or so pictures were ever shown anyway. Also, all the text would have to be verbatim from the official Viz translation, since all the fan translations vary greatly in terms of wording. Also, I'm not that sure what the Japanese chart means by Type, Long Distance and Common are literal meanings. Maybe Offensive/Item/Defensive and Imposed/Free? -Zyrxil (talk) 05:21, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most likely... Also, I have just come to notice that the list given only lists the designed pocket cards, so everything else will just have to come from manga pages. Thankfully, viz has translated the cards on those pages from "Hunter language" too. For Card 1001, Viz has it named "Peak" having the effect of "Look at the free slots of one player (one you've meet in the game).". I don't see any indication of the "type" though... it might be the little bubbles on the bottom of that cards that have the letters "L" and "N" in them. (This information came from page 99 of Volume 19, if you wanted to know.) It also seems like that only the non-designated pocket cards are the only ones to have those "bubbles" on them. I'll have to look up more on this.XScar (talk) 21:49, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Page 99 of volume 19? Are you sure you have the right book? Volume 19 is already the Ant arc. -Zyrxil (talk) 02:30, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Completely my fault... Volume 16 is where that came from. I guess I had my mind set on Volume 19 since I bought it that day.XScar (talk) 23:37, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

character[edit]

razor's hatsu type is definitely specialization. He's the GM and one of the makers. the information from hunter website clearly states that the game's made by people with specialization nen type. —Preceding unsigned comment added by N-K Person (talkcontribs) 23:39, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's just speculation. We have no clue whether or not Razor lent his Nen ability to create the game. However, we have seen him emit before. -Mr. Toto (talk) 06:07, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
