The name Koi is often assumed, by those who do not know me personally, to represent a variety of oriental goldfish or carp. Indeed, it is rather ironic that I ignorantly picked the same handle as the pond fish known as Koi, as it seems to mesh in with alot of what I do online. Specifically, I am active in the furry fandom, where I take on the fairly non-anthropomorphic form of a catboy. The irony here is that I'm a cat with a name that means fish. In all honesty, the name Koi stems from the Japanese word of the same spelling which means 'love'.

I began using Wikipedia, officially, on April 3, 2005 when a debate among my furry friends about the species and identity of Hanage from the anime series Super Milk Chan led to a friend posting a Wikipedia link. Obviously, I was shocked that any encyclopedia site could contain such a mundane and obscure fact, so I began looking around, and signed up soon after. Mainly, I plan to focus on contributing in the realms of sexuality, computing, anime, the English language, and teaching, as I have significant experience in those fields.

I myself, am twenty years old, and reside in Florida, USA. I find myself doing more thinking than anything else in my spare time, with concern to sociality, philosophy, phsychology, and a combination of the three that are condensed into a simplified 'common sense' form that I call "Social Cartography". I plan to write a book, or a series of essays, explaining this concept in detail, and I may begin this venture here on Wikipedia. As for now, though, I am satisfied with writing essays on the social aspects of the furry fandom, and other things of personal interest.
