Hi Plexust,

I changed the link in tic-tac-toe back to the movuie - the game does play an important role in the movie, while its significance to the wargaming hobby is nil.

Hi Plexust,

I'm investigating the origin of the "Yomiuri Dragons" that you added to the Japanese baseball page 05:49, 24 Aug 2004. All of the Japanese resources I've come across state that there's only been one franchise use "Dragons" as its mascot, the Chunichi Dragons. The franchise goes:

  * 1936-1943 Nagoya
  * 1944-1945 Sangyo
  * 1946-1946 Chubu Nippon
  * 1947-1950 Chunichi Dragons
  * 1951-1953 Nagoya Dragons
  * 1954-Present Chunichi Dragons

Yomiuri has only been the Yomiuri Kyoujin or Yomiuri Giants to the best of my knowledge.

From what source did you get Yomiuri Dragons as a Cental League team from? Or was this a typo?

Sincerely,
Michael Westbay

Thanks for bringing this to my attention; I was able to find one source, and one source alone. I suppose I should've corroborated it, but I did find a source: http://www.oocities.com/prosportshistory/japaneseclhistory.html I will remove it for the time being.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Snlmango.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Snlmango.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:37, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Yomiurigiantslogo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Yomiurigiantslogo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 21:48, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Yomiurigiantslogo.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Yomiurigiantslogo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:19, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 00:18, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 8[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
