Untitled[edit]

Article listed on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion Apr 26 to May 2 2004, consensus was to keep. Discussion:

It's not clear what Moog is, why a list of users is encyclopedic... jengod 00:34, Apr 26, 2004 (UTC)

  • Now I want to know what a moog is! Damn... Delete Keep now I know what a moog is, though needs to be renamed and cleaned up. -- Graham  :) | Talk 21:20, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Moog Synthesizer, see Robert Moog. While the Moog is notable in its field, a list of people using them isn't worthwhile. Delete -- Cyrius|&#9998 02:46, Apr 26, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep and improve. Moog is a well known synthesier (see Robert Moog). List of musicians specialising in Moog play is as valid as a list of famous guitarists, but the article needs major work and wikifying.Mat-C 02:49, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, needs work. Dysprosia 03:26, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep - one can imagine somone reading up on Moog synthesizers using this list to hunt down examples of its use to listen to. TB 10:43, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Should probably be named "list of. . ." for consistency's sake, though. Jgm 14:34, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. The musicians should be wiki-linked, to encourage writing of articles. -- The Anome 14:54, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Wiki this bad boy out. It'll make a nice "jumping-off" page when fixed. - Lucky 6.9 21:19, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, list on Cleanup. RickK 23:06, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. I've alphabeticised it, added TOC, added wiki-links, added a few more glaring omissions. Still needs more work, but please don't delete - this was a lot of work :) --Bwmodular 16:52, 27 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, but under a name like "List of musicians notably using Moog synthetizers" or something like that. Such kind of data is interesting indeed for people who might want to know what a Moog sounds like. David.Monniaux 20:26, 27 Apr 2004 (UTC)
    • FYI Was moved to "List of Moog synthesizer users" by The Anome on 26th April --Bwmodular 07:48, 29 Apr 2004 (UTC)
      • Is this at all a verifiable list? Alcarillo 07:56, 30 Apr 2004 (UTC)
      • Well I can verify all the ones that I've added myself, and at least half of the others. Unless we expect each entry to be accompanied by (say) an album credit, I think we'll just have to accept that people know enough about the people they're adding to be sure of their inclusion. In many cases, citing an album isn't even enough, as players are often cited as generic 'synthesizer' players, and the specific instruments aren't listed, but I for one know that all the artists I've listed played Moogs on at least one album.--Bwmodular 13:47, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • Isn't a moog a synthesizer? I think we should be able to find plenty of musicians who used this instrument. Should it count even if it's only in one song? Some cool guy 00:47, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Users[edit]

Pink Floyd did use the Minimoog on Wish You Were Here and Animals but on The Dark Side of the Moon they used an EMS VCS 3 and on The Wall they used an ARP Quadra in Hey You and a Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 in Another Brick in the Wall and Run Like Hell. Also, Freddie Mercury didn't use a Moog. He used an Oberheim OB-X. I'm not going to make any edits to this list and will just leave it as is. But in the articles for these artists and groups and all their songs and albums, the synths I just mentioned are seen there.--Kevjgav (talk) 10:31, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
