Wow! Thanks for the welcome :)

Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. Thanks! --Crossmr 18:03, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I realized that, it was a mistake (which unfortunately can't be undone). Marcan 18:50, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Survey Invitation[edit]

Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. To compensate you for your time, I am offering a reward of USD$10, either to you or as a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation. For more information, please go to the research home page. Thank you. --WikiInquirer 17:46, 4 March 2007 (UTC)talk to me[reply]

Wii homebrew and potential conflict of interest[edit]

Hi! Since you did a lot of work on the Wii homebrew article, I was wondering if you could weigh in on an issue in the article. Editor GeekRecon wants to add information about his Javascript SDK for the Wii, but I removed it for lacking notability. (It's not even released yet, nor does his site appear to be mentioned anywhere else.) However, I am the author of a similar toolkit for Flash programs on WiiCade. Thus the editor is concerned about myself having a conflict of interest. That's a fair argument, so I was wondering if we could get a few impartial editors in to evaluate it and give a yay or nay? See the Talk Page for more info. Thanks! Jbanes 03:58, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is PS2 Independence Exploit. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PS2 Independence Exploit. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Homebrew channel logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Homebrew channel logo.png, which you've attributed to http://wiibrew.org/wiki/File:Homebrew_channel_logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Michaelzeng7 (talk) 22:32, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

On a lighter note, I have downloaded the file to my computer and will re-upload the file under a fair use claim for use on Homebrew Channel if the file gets deleted. Michaelzeng7 (talk) 22:36, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated the original source link (since that image got reverted for unrelated reasons at the source; I've reuploaded it under a separate filename) and the new link contains authorship and licensing information. As you can see, the image is a collaboration. Is explicit written permission from every contributor required? (I have verbal permission.) Marcan (talk) 01:20, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
checkY It works. Thanks! Michaelzeng7 (talk) 14:38, 15 September 2013 (UTC), revised 14:41, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As the file now contains proof of a free license, I've gone ahead and moved it to the Wikimedia Commons, where any Wikimedia wiki can use it. Cheers! Michaelzeng7 (talk) 14:56, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
