This is a "biography"?[edit]

This article, as biographies go leaves a lot to be desired. Can some more details about this person be added to this article? It doesn't even mention where he was born, or where he lives. Only by reading what little is here do I infer he is an American. So is he? Bruno talk 19:43, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is a wiki. It only includes what the people who volunteer, add to it! WP:WORKINPROGRESS etc. If you learn details that are not included here, come back and add them (ideally with references). We all benefit! -- Quiddity (talk) 23:23, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. Yes, of course I'll add referenced material when I learn of it. Goes without saying. But this applies to the material already added. It is very much extended over the works of this man, but says nothing about his personal information. This is very odd.Bruno talk 02:20, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Interviews are the usual source of personal-biographical-details in biographies. There aren't many in the current refs, but Google:"Larry Gonick" interview has a good handful. Go for it!
(It's a lot easier to add and/or reformat a list of items, than it is to compose a paragraph of original prose. Hence we've always got lists, even in the really short articles and stubs.) -- Quiddity (talk) 03:47, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently, he's a professor (of what? and where?) and a mathematician.[edit]

In the Wik article on CHU, it says "The Cartoon History of the Universe is a book series about the history of the world. It is written and illustrated by American cartoonist, professor, and mathematician Larry Gonick."Kdammers (talk) 11:32, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

According to his professional résumé "AB summa cum laude in mathematics, Harvard College, 1967; MA in mathematics, Harvard, 1969; 1969-70 academic year spent at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bombay, India." [1] 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 20:32, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
