My user name is BlackCountess and I am an academic researcher working in the field of psychological engineering, where the intersection of philosophy, psychology, artificial intelligence, and ergonomics come together with technology so that human solutions can be wisely developed.

I am a member of the Society of Black Engineers, and as a female technology I am proud to represent a double minority interest in what I hope is a growing field. I have been using computers since the age of 11 and find interaction with them to be completely natural.

I am working towards a PhD in computer science with five more classes to complete. I have already been published four times and am currently working on a paper about desktop interface design.

My musical interests range from Jazz to contemporary, and I enjoy live music with a spicy meal and good company. Life is too short to not seek out the best.
