I've included the "British Isles" template here because some mathematicians counted as "Irish" were born in what is now the Republic of Ireland at a time when it was part of the UK, and indeed some were UK citizens all their life. Northern Ireland may present a problem later; see the talk page for Template:British Isles mathematicians for suggestions on that. VivaEmilyDavies 17:03, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Why isn't Patrick D'arcy on here? By the above posters logic anybody born in occupied territory would not be from the later established state, including Nazi occupied territories — Preceding unsigned comment added by 51.37.194.82 (talk) 08:40, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
