Request for minor clarification[edit]

In the history section, there is the sentence "These [surveys] ended in 1862, although nothing has been published." Does this mean:

  • that nothing was published even though the surveys were completed - they could have published, but for some reason chose not to?
  • that these surveys did not produce enough information to be published?

Nitpicky, I know!

My source was: http://www.swisstopo.ch/en/about/gesch.htm I am not so sure now, I will look into it later today. Gerritholl

I need a better name for the section "New Century". The earlier sections, "Dufourkarten" and "Siegfriedkarten", are clear, as well as "Modern Maps", because they mark clear landmarks in the history of Swisstopo, but the period between the Siegfriedkarten and Modern times is unclear. Could someone with a better ability in the English language read this part and make up a good name for the section? A rewrite of some parts of the history might also be a good idea, because I am not a native writer and my English is far from perfect. Gerritholl 08:09, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
