On Wikifying

Hi Binarypunisher, and welcome aboard.

I'm always glad to see more copyeditors on Wikipedia. Adding internal links (some people call them Wikilinks) to Wikipedia articles is an important step in building and improving any of the entries in our encyclopedia. Many here would argue that it is one of the most important aspects of Wikifying (the process of making articles fit within the formatting and style guidelines of Wikipedia).

One thing to be wary of is to avoid overwikifying. Within most articles, a single internal link to a term is sufficent. For example, in the article on the Second Chechen War, only the first reference to Grozny needs a Wikilink; subsequent uses of Grozny can remain as normal text. There are lots of details in the Wikipedia Manual of Style; on this point check out the guide to linking.

Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
