Born 'daan saaf' of mixed ancestry i.e. half Southern half Geordie. Escaped at an early age and brought up God's own country (Yorkshire).

I grew up playing association football and sometimes cricket but have grown extremely disillusioned about the 'beautiful game' which IMO was ruined by the Premier League, the Champions League, Alex Ferguson, FIFA and the Bosman ruling.

I spent a few years teaching English abroad and so am extremely pedantic about issues of grammar.
