Automatic redirect[edit]

I see you made the FOEI page redirect automatically to Friends of the Earth International. That's exactly what I wanted to do -- how do you do it? TIA. FrankP - Talk

Although I'm not the guy you're talking to, you do it by putting #REDIRECT [[Page to Redirect To]] on the re-directing page.

Death threat[edit]

Well, I was going to give you a death threat, but I see it's crossed out. But while I'm here, I've tried to use your tweak, but somethings going wrong.

I've copied the code from your monobook.css page and placed it in User:Super_Sam/monobook.css, (underneath the default code) with no success. What needs to be done to get it to work? -- Super Sam July 4, 2005 04:52 (UTC)

Perhaps you're not clearing your cache? That can cause some problems. Oh, and change the location of the image to that of your tiny Homsar for your own avatar. :D
Other than that, I'm stumped. And make sure you're using a decent browser. Certain others are nothing but trouble.
Well, I tested it on the Wikipedia and it works fine. It must be a problem with the Homestar Wiki. Congrats on a great design.
You know who Homsar is. That's cool. :P Also, are you a fan of The Simpsons? -- Super Sam 12:35, July 13, 2005 (UTC)
Very much so. – TTD Bark! (pawprints) 16:48, July 13, 2005 (UTC)
Cool. What's your favorite character? -- Super Sam 05:32, July 14, 2005 (UTC)
Perhaps we should take it to IM or IRC or something to eliminate lag and stop cluttering the DB ;) – TTD Bark! (pawprints) 06:54, July 14, 2005 (UTC)
Well, I have MSN. My e-mail is supersammyfluff@msn.com. -- Super Sam 07:59, July 15, 2005 (UTC)

Clear cache script[edit]

Cool, I've linked to the Greasemonkey script from my purge cache script page. I'm glad someone's getting some use out of it. I'd actually forgotten that I wrote it! —Rory 13:29, July 24, 2005 (UTC)

avatar[edit]

Image:Thetorpedodogwiki.png poses a problem in that we don't support the cc-nd license. Therefore, it is likely to be deleted. Also, the image lack a source. You may with to upload a different avatar for which you can provide a source and a GFDL license. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 20:21, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I'll take care of that straightaway. Thanks for notifying me.
…and done. – TTD Bark! (pawprints) 03:31, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Rita Image[edit]

I have nominated the picture Rita 2005 five day track.gif for deletion because it is not needed anymore. It says on the image page that your user page links to it. Just letting you know so you can remove the link. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 20:58, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Think of the children?[edit]

Show me a browser which implements <input type=file accept='audio/*'> [1] and I'll consider using <del> instead of <s>. --James S. 00:42, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo of the Government of Ontario.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo of the Government of Ontario.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. WP:SIG[edit]

Hey there! I suggest reading this article specifically the section on Appearance. I'm bringing this to your attention because you have an image in your signature and images aren't allowed. This is an excerpt from the article i mentioned:

Images[edit]

Images of any kind shall not be used in signatures.

Many concerns have been raised over the use of images in signatures, and they are considered to serve no use to the encyclopedia project. Images in signatures shall not be used for several reasons:

  • they are an unnecessary drain on server resources, and could cause server slowdown
  • a new image can be uploaded in place of the one you chose, making your signature a target for possible vandalism and Denial-of-service attacks
  • they reduce searchability, making pages more difficult to read
  • they make it more difficult to copy text from a page
  • they are potentially distracting from the actual message
  • in most browsers images do not scale with the text, making lines with images higher than those without
  • they clutter up the "file links" list on the image page every time you sign on a different talk page
  • images in signatures give undue prominence to a given user's contribution

Message regarding your use of the No Multi License Template[edit]

In case you are not aware, the Wikimedia Foundation has proposed that the copyright licensing terms on the wikis operated by the WMF – including Wikipedia – be changed to include the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license in addition to the current GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) as allowed by version 1.3 of the GFDL. The community has approved this change with 75.8% in favor, and on June 15, 2009, the change will take effect.
You currently have {{NoMultiLicense}} on your user or user talk page, which states that your edits are licensed under the GFDL only. On or before June 15, this template will be changed to reflect Wikipedia's new licensing terms. If you accept the licensing change, you do not need to do anything (and feel free to remove this message); if you do not accept it, we regret that you will no longer be able to contribute to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#NoMultiLicense template if you have any comments.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
