As for the connection between St(even)Anton Ditko and Stanton.................One and the same of course—Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.136.24.41 (talkcontribs)

Proposed merger[edit]

It seems to me that the character "Blunder Broad" may not be notable enough for her own article, but certainly the article contains information that could be included here. What do others think? Charlie-talk to me-what I've done 04:22, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It might be good to merge if there is a section with other ongoing Stanton characters. I'm not sure we should merge it if it's just the one, which tends to give it disproportionate weight. That would be like a Jack Kirby article having a section on Captain America, and nothing on The New Gods, The Fantastic Four, the Boy Commandos, etc. --Tenebrae 18:38, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, well I'm not that familiar with Stanton's characters, but if there are others of note, I'm sure we could make a section called "notable characters", or something similar. Charlie-talk to me-what I've done 08:26, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly so. Having a section called "Notable character", singular, isn't quite the same thing! :-) —Tenebrae 00:21, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Merged quickly & crudely to Eric Stanton#Later_career. If someone wants to reorganize that page and add characters, that would be helpful. / edg 16:16, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:EricStantonBoundBeauty.gif[edit]

Image:EricStantonBoundBeauty.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Belated point of fact: The article actually does discuss the Ditko / Stanton artistic cross-influences the image illustrated:

One classmate was future Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko, with whom Stanton shared a Manhattan studio at 43rd Street and Eighth Avenue from 1958 to 1966 or 1968 (accounts differ). Some of Stanton's work during this period shows Ditko influence[1] and the introduction to one book of Stanton's work says, "Eric Stanton drew his pictures in India ink, and they were then hand-coloured by Ditko".[2] Ditko reportedly denied touching Stanton's work,[1] though Stanton himself said they would spot-ink each other's art.[1]

The image was a legitimate use. --Tenebrae (talk) 15:49, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
