James Brown lifting the line 'hit it and quit', you know the one...take it too the bridge...repeat...repeat... with great alacrity in his song...but what's the name of the song!

- I think that's the song you're referring to. Though "take it to the bridge" is repeated in many James Brown songs, that's the only one with "hit it and quit" as far as I know. 128.172.211.98 04:20 Oct 19, 2002 (UTC)
- I don't think there's any connection between the two songs. I'm guessing it's a coincidence, though if anything, I'd guess Brown's song came first, before the Funkadelic. Tokerboy 04:27 Oct 19, 2002 (UTC)
