Talk:Alternative Transportation Movement

I could not find any other page even referring to what is referred to in North America, at least, as the Alternative Transportation (or Alternate Transportation, or Alternative Transport, etc.) Movement. There is nothing in "Transport" or in "Bicycle" or in any of the ecological movement pages that really does this movement justice.

I realize a potential NPOV issue in calling it "Alternative", which implies that there is a 'normal', though from the North American POV, this is not an issue (unfortunately).

If someone knows a better name for it, go ahead and fix it.

Proposal for merge[edit]

This article lacks anything to indicate the history or presence of such a movement. It at least needs an external link. The car-free articles cover this topic nicely. Jethro Elfman 19:30 Jan 29, 2006 UTC

I would suggest that the most efficient all around (and indeed I do not think this entry should be suppressed, it is a very good front door for an important group of society shaping concepts) would be to have this kick the reader into http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainable_transportation ericbritton 07:16, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
