The commentary on each song is baseless and without merit. Furthermore; it seems as if it was written by a fanboy or 14 year old girl. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.73.40.25 (talk) 18:26, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that some of the information listed for each song is written without merit as mentioned above by Sinebot. I have seen other references to this and some are peoples own opinions. I am going to research this further and make corrections with the reliable sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Melvin3v (talkcontribs) 21:16, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know who the model is from the cover of the Van Halen: Balance album?

I believe it is Edward's son, Wolfgang, who recently joined the band on bass. I'm not completely sure, though. Someone please verify this before posting.

I've also heard references suggesting that it is Wolfgang. I can't currently find my liner notes to the album to see if it's included. It may be interesting to note also that the north east Asian version of the album cover art does not show a siamese twin, just a solitary child on the seesaw. --Bentonia School 13:50, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Somewhere along the way, the band decided they didn't want to hear about the healing power of love, and the song took on a new direction." this looks like a potent combination of poor writing and vandalism to me... Filter1987 21:04, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In an effort to move this article closer to Featured Article status, I am going to be attempting to work on the stability criterion. Melvin3v, I noticed that you removed the short descriptors on each of the songs. This was a good move as none of those descriptions were sourced. I will be looking further at other credible source information to add. I encourage others who are interested in improving the quality of this article to also make changes/updates that adhere to Wikipedia's policies. Namosin (talk) 14:49, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I added a Release and Promotion section which I felt helps make the article more comprehensive and overall will push more towards being a featured article, I felt it need more extensive information. I plan on adding a reception page with reviews as well. And thank you Namosin, for overlooking the stability of the article, November 13th, 2013 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Melvin3v (talkcontribs) 02:46, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Van Halen - Balance.jpg[edit]

Image:Van Halen - Balance.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Restoring the genre "pop metal" to this album[edit]

Hi,

just noticed that this album had the "pop metal" source removed without an explanation. Would it be ok if I restored it? Source and Quote Below:

[1]https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-album-reviews/balance-206087/

"Balance is pro forma pomp rock — but with VH in top form, power aplenty remains in their slick machine. Their ensemble expertise confirmed with the massive Live: Right Here, Right Now (1993), Van Halen continue as passionate mechanics, constructing pop metal that, for all its lack of hip, provides dependable delights."
