The wrong Dr. (John) Montagu[edit]

This page links the name "Dr. Montagu" to a page about John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwhich. This John Montagu was neither master of Trinity nor a contemporary of the Charles Montagu who was 1st Earl of Halifax. The John Montagu in question was not born until 1718, 3 years after Charles died.

Property[edit]

Gentlemen, did Lord Halifax possess any estates in or near Yorkshire(so as to support his title)? --Anglius 21:30, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

This article has a long and complicated infobox, which duplicates the succession box. Do we really need both? This is obviously a strategic issue that ought to be discussed elsewhere. Peterkingiron (talk) 12:49, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're right: the info box is just dupicating the succession boxes. It should be shortened. I'll be glad to do it if no one objects. Coemgenus 13:00, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recently the file File:Charles Montagu, 1st Earl of Halifax by Sir Godfrey Kneller, Bt.jpg (right) was uploaded and it appears to be relevant to this article and not currently used by it. If you're interested and think it would be a useful addition, please feel free to include it. Dcoetzee 10:42, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
