Thermodynamic unit[edit]

I've seen (but only long ago, in a 1936 UK engineering hand-book) the abbreviation CHU used for a (doubtless now archaic) thermodynamic unit; it's a (short) calorie pound per gram or BTU Kelvin per Rankine; so it's the energy needed to warm one pound of water by one centigrade. However, I'm unable to find what the abbreviation stood for. (Obvious guesses include "Caloric Heat Unit", but with no basis for checking.) Eddy 84.215.6.188 (talk) 22:06, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CHU in Dutch politics[edit]

CHU refers to the Christian Historical Union, a now defunct political party. It is not used to refer the the Christian Union, which, when abbreviated, is *always* called CU. 82.176.209.52 (talk) 19:32, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
