Milltown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hutchinson County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 8 at the 2020 census.[2]

Milltown was so named for the fact many of its early residents milled their supply of flour.[3]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2), all land.

As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 8 people, 6 households, and 1 family residing in the CDP. The population density was 18.6 people per square mile (7.2/km2). There were 9 housing units at an average density of 20.9/sq mi (8.1/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 100.00% White.

There were 6 households, out of which none had children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.3% were married couples living together, and 66.7% were non-families. 66.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 50.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.33 and the average family size was 2.00.
