Please do not un-capitalize Fibre Channel. It is a proper noun.--SFoskett 14:45, Sep 2, 2004 (UTC)

Perhaps something should be added mentioning how most manufacturers' switches perform port zoning XOR wwn zoning on the asic; mixing the two makes the zoning done in software, at the potential expense of performance. I'm too scared of wikipedia to add it myself. :)

Cisco-coloured glasses?[edit]

VSANs Why are VSANs in this description? I thought VSANs were Cisco Proprietary - and I also thought that port based zoning was another Cisco thing. I'm fairly new to Fibre Channel, so I'm not editing the article, but it seems to me to have been written through "Cisco-coloured glasses" so to speak.

I think this article should say that VSANs are something different than zones. This would be helpful. It shouldn't include outright endorsement of one vendor. It seems to me that the two sentences you are referring to are OK in both aspects. Can you improve them? --Kubanczyk (talk) 10:01, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
