Gay Icon Project[edit]

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 21:51, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Somebody Fix This, I don't care[edit]

The sentence "The Pointer Sisters are also famous for "Pinball Number Count," a number-learning song that they contributed to a Sesame Street animated segment" does not belong smack in the middle of the 'Recent Years' section. You're welcome.

Why didn't you just re-edit it like I did? It would have taken you less time than typing up this crap!

Ruth Pointer only remaining original member?[edit]

I've rephrased the statement on the most recent Pointer Sisters gig ie. February 11 2012 in Metairie LA omitting the assertion that Ruth stated onstage that she was the only original group member: if she was simply referencing that specific gig's lineup then her statement's irrelevant to the article; if the implication was that she would be the only original member to perform with the Pointer Sisters from now on then that especially needs to be sourced.Cherrylimerickey (talk) 01:05, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see Anita is now described as a past member due to a March 16 edit which cites no source. While I realize Anita has not participated in the group's recent live performances I dispute her being described as a past member without a cited source to confirm she's left the group permanently. I haven't undone the edit but have tagged it Citation Needed.Cherrylimerickey (talk) 00:30, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've replaced the citation needed tag this time attaching it to the Current Lineup section: that Ruth, Issa & Sadako are the lineup on the current Pointer Sisters live performances does not make them the official lineup for the group. The home page image of the Pointer Sisters official site clearly displays Sadako, Ruth & Anita & no mention is made of any permanent replacement of Anita by Issa on the official site nor the Pointer Sisters' Facebook or Twitter accounts. Certainly the current lineup of the Pointer Sisters live shows should be noted but for the article to indicate that the core lineup of the group now features Issa rather than Anita a reliable source should be referenced. And I have deleted that section on Sadako Johnson - or Sadako Pointer as she was identified - as it was pure puffery & totally inappropriate for an encyclopedic article.--Cherrylimerickey (talk) 00:00, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In light of the recent media reports of Anita no longer performing with the group - referenced in the text - I've adjusted the membership details in the infobox. --Cherrylimerickey (talk) 20:18, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Who wrote the lyrics?[edit]

Can someone please add in who wrote the lyrics - if any of the sisters were involved or sometimes involved in this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sylvia Blossom (talkcontribs) 17:59, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
