Cdc[edit]

final (18/0/0) ending 02:25 9 March, 2005 (UTC)

Cdc has contributed more than 1500 edits on a variety of topics, especially geography, since November 11, 2004. Always a careful and well-informed editor, and calm and focused in exchanges with other editors. Someone I consider a solid contributor. Wile E. Heresiarch 02:22, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I accept. Thank you. CDC (talk) 04:47, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  2. Having glanced over Cdc's contributions, I have found some reverts of vandalism, decent and not overwhelming participation at VFD, and lots of good little housekeeping edits. Seems fine, I support. - RedWordSmith 04:29, Mar 2, 2005 (UTC)

  4. Will support upon user acceptance. Any editor may move my vote to support if CDC accepts the nomination. Jordi· 02:28, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  8. Not sure what to make of the lack of comments on CDC's talk page, but edit history looks really good with lots of breadth, involvement, and vandal fighting. CryptoDerk 02:15, Mar 3, 2005 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. I already spend a reasonable bit of time reviewing recent changes, and I plan to continue doing that. I'm also happy to pitch in on cleaning up copyright problems and the like - the backlog there can be pretty hefty at times.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I'm pretty fond of Mataram; I really enjoyed researching and writing it. Lately, I've been gradually expanding the many short articles on the islands and provinces of Indonesia with history and general background information. This is taking a while, but Ternate and Morotai are coming along.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
A. I had a brief dispute with an anonymous user over how to characterize the political status of the Maluku Islands (talk), which we managed to resolve by finding a phrasing that seemed fair to all sides. But that's about it, thus far; I have no love for conflict. Here on Wikipedia and in the rest of my life, I have a strong tendency to assume others are acting in good faith; I'm sometimes wrong, of course, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff.
