WikiProject Sports Car Racing[edit]

Due to your involvement in some Wiki pages that regard sports car racing of some sort, I would like to ask for you to look into the proposed WikiProject for Sports Car Racing. Any help you may have to offer to the project will be greatly appreciated. The359 03:24, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm proposing a redirect to Pale Ale. SilkTork

The Gaddis Annotations[edit]

Why do you want to get into an edit war over this? Really, take a look at how many of the biography (and other) articles have, for example, a "Trivia" section, usually full of genuinely trivial stuff, which seems to be accepted practice. In the case of the article William Gaddis, we're talking about devoting a section to a site that a) is clearly relevant, b) provides unique resources beyond what the article itself would be expected to have, and c) has been, per the citation, noted for its significance by a third party. Why are you so dead-set against including it in the Gaddis article? --ShelfSkewed [Talk] 13:39, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A further thought: Would you find it acceptable if the information were removed as a separate section, reworded, and included in the body of the article? Something like, "Gaddis's life and work are the subjects of a comprehensive scholarly site, The Gaddis Annotations, which has been noted in academic journals...[etc]." --ShelfSkewed [Talk] 15:41, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That would be much better. Someone (could be you, for all I know) already worked in a mention of the WU archives at the end of the "Biography" section*, and it wasn't obtrusive in the least to me, the casual wiki-reader. And I don't object in any way to the mention of the williamgaddis.org site; it's obviously relevant, and, from what I've read of it, seems like a fine resource. I'd be satisfied with a more inviting "External links" label for it, but I'm not going to get into an "edit war" about that. Slidewinder 08:28, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I thought the main article referred specifically to the online archives, but it actually doesn't.
I made the change. So, okay, I think it's better that way, too. --ShelfSkewed [Talk] 15:50, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
