Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Interesting Nonetheless

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Non-notable ad for a forum site. Fails Wikipedia:Alexa test [1] with a ranking of over 3 million (well over the established necessary rank of < 100,000). - DropDeadGorgias (talk) 18:12, Jul 29, 2004 (UTC)

UPDATE: User has also posted the alternate URL www.interestingnonetheless.com, but even that url has an alexa over 300,000. [2]

  • Delete. Does anyone know why we're getting blitzed with forum promoting articles lately? SWAdair | Talk 07:35, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • comment: it's probably doing the rounds that Wikipedia can be used for SEO. Nip them in the bud before crawlers find the page, I say. --Ianb 10:13, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: I am the creator of this page. I was unaware of the 100,000 rating rule, but after realizing that I agree that it should be deleted. But please note that I am not the owner of that site nor was it intended as advertising; I was reading the articles on two other forums that have much of the same userbase as this forum and thought I would add this one since it is somewhat related. I apologize for the inconvenience.
    • No harm done. It's just that there are so many others who only come here to abuse the Wikipedia's open nature that we've become hostile to anything resembling an advertisement. (In the future, you can sign your edits with ~~~~.) --Ardonik 04:29, Jul 31, 2004 (UTC)
