Does anyone know :

1. Where Williams obtained his PhD and on what topic;
2. Is it correct that he holds a Diploma in Celtic Studies (from Queen's Belfast?), and if so what exactly is the academic status of this qualification?

The reference listed for the statement "As P. Williams on the train[edit]

I was on the train to Westport a few years back and there were three (maybe four) lads in the seats across from me. One of them was going on in English talking about I don't know what but it was definitely in English and in a British accent. A few minutes later the same fella was going on in an Irish accent and he was definitely speaking in very good Irish. I got up out of sheer nosiness (I know: I'm awful) at this surreal experience and went to the bog and came back and glanced at him. I reported this to my sources (ahem!) and they said to me that it had to be Nicholas Williams. Brilliant stuff in the spirit of Bláithín and Seoirse. I'd buy that man a pint. Coat of Arms[edit]

A grant of arms is made to an individual person, and while it can pass down to that person's descendants, it does not belong to a surname. Modern heraldry still exists an in heraldic jurisdictions like Ireland one may apply for a grant of arms. Williams, George and Gendall[edit]

I would like to see some discussion (but it would need to be done most carefully!!!) about the 1990's and the 'orthography wars' between UC/UCR, Late Cornish and Kernewek Kemmyn. This period, I would suggest, will be viewed by historians and one of the most important eras in Cornish history where Cornwall 'came of age' and robust argument became possible. I don't think much is needed (certainly not a justification of positions) but an indication of the extensive work that occured by all those contributors. I would suggest that that 'conflict of heavyweights' is now (however faulteringly) is leading to a rapproachement within the Cornish language community?
