I cannot find references to this test on-line outside of dictionaries, which can propagate a term "incestuously" that might not be in actual use. Could you please provide some reference/citation that relates the details of use of the test? Thanks.

I suppose you have a point about the dictionary type nature of the article. I don't know enough about the test to expand it. As for finding details online, the test was used to detect levels of a medicine called arsphenamine, which was given to treat syphilis. It hasn't been used for over 60 years due to introduction of antibiotics. This may explain why you can't find anything more contemporary online. Despite the above, I believe a (more detailed) article has a place in Wikipedia. Dave 19:51, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I was referring to the sources I could find as dictionary like, not this article per se. There is that German article that is associated with the "who named it" link. It's good to know that the test hasn't been done in a medical sense for over half a century. There might be something in the biochemistry literature that I've not come across yet; things that are old do tend to come again repurposed or are "rediscovered". Courtland 22:40, 2005 Mar 26 (UTC)
