Untitled[edit]

Moved from Archdiocese of Saint Louis to Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Louis for (1) uniformity with other Roman Catholic diocesan articles on Wikipedia and (2) clarity based on Wikipedia namespace standards for articles and possible articles with similar names. --Gerald Farinas 22:34, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

article 'list of Auxiliary bishops'[edit]

Greetings,

First: for article List of St. Louis Archdiocesan Auxiliary Bishops I updated into a 2 column list and changed terms of service to by years only.

Second: update SL Archdiocese article with auxiliary bishop list into 'Ordinaries' subsection.

To be done Next: delete List of St. Louis Archdiocesan Auxiliary Bishops article.

"Ordinaries" subsection title would have been changed to "Bishops", because only the bishop of the diocese is an ordinary. Carlm0404 (talk) 21:51, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

further revision of list of bishops[edit]

I have constructed list of priests of this diocese who served elsewhere as bishop. Also, I added John Timon, who is noted in catholic-hierarchy as having appointment (NOT taking effect) as coadjutor bishop here. John Henry Tihen seems to have left this diocese (transferring to Wichita) BEFORE he became a bishop.

Also, I have added James Duggan as coadjutor bishop, as indicated in his Wikipedia entry. I do not understand use of "bishop" instead of "archbishop", with St. Louis having become an archdiocese by then.

July 2021 Latin Church revision[edit]

As of July 2021, this article was modified to eliminate the nondescript term "Roman Catholic" in favor of the more precise distinction of "Latin Church" (the sui iuris church) and "Catholic Church" (the denomination). If you believe this edit to be in error or improper, please make the relevant reversion and open discussion on this talk page or my personal talk page. Thank you. ~ Pbritti (talk) 03:29, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

School lunches[edit]

A relatively frivolous section on school lunches includes claims with no supporting source. The source that's linked merely says the archdiocese announced a plan that could have certain consequences. The edit added to this article instead stated that those potential consequences have in fact occurred, and that the archdiocese opposes the Civil Rights Act. Neither claim is supported by the source. natemup (talk) 17:24, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
