Name[edit]

  • What has Avram (pronounced "ov-ram") got to do with the biblical Abraham ? As far as I'm aware there is no etymological relationship between the two terms. --Gene_poole 04:54, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)
  • Of course they're probably not related. Avram happens to have the same spelling, and Avram is a common Hebrew (Jewish) transliteration for Abram, the prior name for Abraham. If anyone comes to Avram looking for what Christians call "Abram", then they will be directed to Abraham, the article relevant to Biblical Abram. That's what disambiguation is all about. - Gilgamesh 05:16, 22 June 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Fact and fiction[edit]

The information contained on this protected page is a wonderful blend of fact and fiction. It must have been placed there by some mischievous person who prefers their own fiction to fact for example the following record from Parliament House Hobart. http://www.parliament.tas.gov.au/tpl/DataSheets/MHAs_since_1909.htm I am sure the Clerk of the Lower House (he is the senior person)would verify these facts. His email address is peter.alcock@parliament.tas.gov.au. It would be nice if the policy of this organisation was to distribute truthful information about people rather than a vindictive persons fiction. grandduchy@hotmail.com— Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.131.34.21 (talk) 08:05, 16 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Verification[edit]

Mr. Poole appears to be a person who actively engages in puting out his particular verson of fact and fiction, with little regard for the truth of what he writes. He is not interested in real verifiable facts only his own version of fiction. He appears to be a person of no substance. Hello anonymous editor. (I take it you are the same anon that has been constantly reverting Avram to a non-wikified version the last few weeks?) Personal attacks on other users - especially vandalism of their user page - is not the best way to gain credibility. If you wish to change or add to this page, please discuss the changes on here first. Otherwise your edits will be constantly reverted by other users, and in the worst case, the page will be protected. -- Chuq 12:11, 13 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Would anyone mind if the information about Rudge in this was split off to form its own article? Seeing as there's now a redlink from the member list for the parliament he was elected to, it'd be nice if he had his own article. Ambi 02:43, 16 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No objection from me - although you should be aware that "His Grace" is currently waging a campaign to remove all references to his birth name - John Charlton Rudge - from the public record, in order to promote the false notion that he was born as "John, the Duke of Avram", instead of simply assuming this identity as an adult. All reference to the Member for Lyons between 1989-92 vanished from one part of the Tasmanian Parliamentary Library's website about 2 days ago - although it can still be accessed in another part of the site. The reasons for this are unclear. Previously the Member was listed as "Avram, Duke of (Rudge, John Charlton)". "His Grace" is also not a member of Sorell Council, and online records show no councillor Rudge/Avram since 2003. --Gene_poole 05:13, 16 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Amorial bearings[edit]

The Armorial bearings shown here nothing to do with "Duchy of Avram" as described (whatever that is)and are the representation of a personal grant by Letters Patent of one of my personal armorial bearings. This in most legal systems is considered to be my personal signature and seal. A document issued under a seal thus is considered to be signed by me, and is considered to be fact. The previously published information which has been depicted on these web pages is not signed by me and is a brand of some facts and fiction evidently designed to mislead the reader. If this is the case it can only be considered a serious criminal offence in most legal systems.

It is hoped that the perpetrator will either obtain correct information and authority to publish the material to avoid possible criminal prosecution.

Unprotected[edit]

This article has been protected from vandalism for 9 days. I'm experimenting with unprotecting and may have to resume protection if the vandalism resumes. --Tony SidawayTalk 17:38, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It appears Mr Duke of Avram has changed ISP, possibly (it appears) to one with a static IP. After four vandalisms today, I have banned him - we will see how it goes.

tracert to 60.231.180.243 shows the last few hops as being:

Thanks for that. --Gene_poole 12:38, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

(I'm pasting this into the talk page of all the micronation category articles.)

I've just started a template for the micronation infobox, based on the Sealand box. I've also written usage guidelines on it's talk page. I'd like to please invite any interested people to go over its talk page to discuss the template itself, along with my guidelines. As a demo of the template, please see Lovely (micronation), which I just edited to use the template. --Billpg 23:04, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Arms Avram.GIF[edit]

Image:Arms Avram.GIF is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
